Reports to the Assistant AD for Communications and Creative Services and the Deputy AD for External Operations. Responsible for helping to create and maintain a positive image for the university’s program of intercollegiate athletics for student-athletes, accomplished primarily through local, state and national news media, internal and external partnerships, and more direct communication with the university’s audiences. This Exempt Full-Time person manages the broadcasts, podcasts and press conferences, serves as the primary contact and supervisor for student workers who help the media relations office stat games and provide web streaming content. This person finds, trains and schedules those workers for each contest during the season, which could be for as many as 75 contests per year. This person serves as one of ACU’s two primary media and community contacts for athletics; helps maintain historical sports files; and helps supports the Vision goal of helping ACU be perceived as a national leader in Christian higher education.
Basic Responsibilities
A. Broadcast scheduling and oversight B. Works with ACU-TV to schedule and develop on-air talent C. Primary media contact for selected sports D. Event/stats management for selected sports E. Nomination of student-athletes for conference and national awards

A. Broadcast Management 1. Schedules streams and broadcast for all sports that have them 2. Works with ACU-TV to schedule talent for on-air broadcasts 3. Makes sure streams are properly working for home events 4. Oversees radio/audio broadcasts for football and select other sports 5. Works to identify and develop on-air talent 6. Investigates opportunities to stream all possible sports 7. Works closely with marketing department to assist in event promotion B. Primary Contact for Selected Sports 1. Fields requests from media for selected sports as the primary contact 2. Shares rosters and stat files of selected sports with media and opponent sports information directors 3. Present at every home game and some road games as the primary contact 4. Produces game notes, game programs for selected sports 5. Visits weekly with coaching staff of selected sports 6. Travel to postseason events of selected sports 7. Nominate student-athletes for awards 8. Maintains webpages for selected sports

Qualifications:
ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU.
Professional
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations or marketing with proven broadcast abilities.
At least 1 year of responsible experience in social media management, with some supervisory or management experience preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and quality of work.
Experience with computers and appropriate software for graphic design
Broad understanding of/and interest in numerous sports.
